Consultation | Meeting | Design | Pre-Consultation | Construction | Project Completion

Step One – Initial Consultation (Three D’s - Discuss, Describe, Determine)

  • Discuss client’s wants and needs; also find out what kind of research and pre-planning they have done.
  • Review needs, wants and their ultimate desirable outcome.
  • Discuss budget, costs and scope of work.
  • Describe what we do, what products we offer, and the service we provide.
  • Determine whether we can meet client’s needs and expectations.
  • If we can meet the client’s needs, and the client meets our criteria a follow meeting will be scheduled.

Step Two – Meeting at client’s house (Style, Function & Desire)

  • Discuss project and budget.
  • Review the DeCucina process, review the services we offer.
  • Ask the client if DeCucina and their wants are a good fit.
  • If client has a set of existing plans or layouts we will provide a free estimate of material costs.  If plans are not available we can give a rough estimate based on linear foot estimates. 
  • To continue a Design Contract will need to be discussed.

Step Three – Design stage

  • Design Agreement signed.
  • Meeting at client’s house to begin discussing ideas and options.
  • Take measurements.
  • Take photos for catalogue.
  • Complete 20/20 drawings of existing layout.
  • Complete a conceptual floor plan with budget.
  • Design meetings to refine design and make sure client’s wants are met.

Step Four – Pre-Construction (Design Finalization)

  • Construction Agreement signed with general contractor.
  • Elevations and structural plans will be completed based on finalized design.
  • Meetings with general contractor to discuss labor requirements.
  • Permits to be obtained by contractor.
  • Materials ordered.
  • Meeting with client to discuss any accommodations needed during construction, i.e. makeshift kitchen.
  • Pre-construction walk through.
  • Start date establish, and timeline filled out.

Step Five – Construction

  • Construction begins.
  • Weekly construction updates with client and general contractor.
  • Timeliness, cleanliness and communication are the main focus.
  • Changes in schedule will be reflected on the timeline.

Step Six – Project Completion

  • Project completion.
  • Final walk through and punch list.
  • Exit interview with client and discuss all warranties.
  • Schedule six month follow up and one year follow up.
